Tip of the Month: April 2014

| April 14, 2014 | Print Article

Happy Spring! In keeping with our annual home spring cleaning traditions, April is a great time to do a spring cleaning of your GME “home” too.

  • Take a day this month to clean your office.  Go through that pile of papers sitting on your desk since recruitment and either file them where appropriate or recycle if you no longer need it.
  • Don’t forget about your electronic files as well.  Go through your downloaded files that you have collected and place them in appropriate electronic files.  Don’t forget to label them or change their names so that you can easily find them in the future, if needed.   It is very easy to forget that “article20567.pdf” is actually that article you saved on resident evaluations!
  • Log into ADS to see the gaps in your ACGME data.  Request from faculty and residents (particularly your graduating residents) any scholarly activity or presentations that they have done to begin to prepare for your annual data submission.
  • Run reports from your electronic residency management system to see where you may have missing evaluations or other data points that you collect.
